** Will be moved to new "Orphan Foals" When it is open ** The young 2 year old had been so excited to cross the bridge, so without a look back she had gone for it. She came upon this clearing, and stopped to nibble some of the grass. Mom should be done her Reining session by now... I better go back and tell her all about this place! So Latte spun around, but there was nothing there, no bridge, no path, just trees, lots and lots of trees. Latte winnied as loudly as she could... Where am I, Where are the two-leggers, the pasture fences, the Yearling Barn. The Main Barn, The House, THE OTHER HORSES! Latte thought to herself, She had grown up at such a structrured Western Ranch. Every morning, breakfast, out in the pasture, Mom had her reining lesson, then a play with the short two-legger, then in the barn for supper and a sleep. But now her life had been flipped upside down. She fell to the ground, now what?

Crimson had briefly left the Starry Peak to explore the lands around. She found her hooves leading her to the Claiming grounds. She walked around slowly, wandering what brought her back here. And then she spotted a filly. She smiled slightly at the look of exitement and watched the filly turn back, probably going to return to her mother. She sighed and turned away, glancing back in time to see the filly fall to the ground. Concerned, she trotted slowly over to her, hoping not to startle the younger horse. "Excuse me," she said softly, looking at her curiously. "Are you alright?"

Latte looked up, startled. Another horse? she thought to herself... maybe she can help me "I just came here, but I left my mom at home at The Center, I don't know how to get back... she dropped her head, if horses could cry there would be a tear running down her cheek, she missed her mother, and the geldings she had left behind... Do you know how to get back on that bridge? I came across it, but now I can't seem to find it... The older mare seemed so nice, but how could she be sure, where did she come from, were there other horses on the island? or were they the only ones?

Crimson frowned. She remembered coming to the island over the bridge. "Well, little one, I don't think that the bridge is there anymore," she explained softly. "My guess is that you come over and then the bridge vanishes to you. This place is meant to keep horses safe from the humans," she explained. "I think that the only way you could see your mother again unless she finds her way over herself," she said gently. She didn't want to hurt the filly, but also didn't see the point of keeping the truth from her.
"Will you be alright by yourself or would you like me to stay?" she asked, tilting her head to one side curiously. Her mind wandered back to Sunstone. If she brought the filly back to the mountain, she wondered if the stallion would let the younger female stay.

Never see mom again, or the geldings, I will never know who my father was... Latte dropped her head to the ground. "I might be okay here by myself, I am two you know!Latte said proudly, then suddenly she remebered when her mother had told her about the forest...Forests are not for horses, there are too many things that will hurt you, Big Angry Cats, with teeth as sharp as the two-leggers tools, And angry two-leggers that will try to steal you away from me...ect. Maybe I should go with the Red Roan Mare Latte thought, "Then again, maybe I won't be okay, I am only two you know...

Crimson nodded and turned to leave at her first answer, but she stopped and turn back with a small smile at her second. "You can come with me if you like," she offered, flicking her tail slightly to scare the flies from her flanks. "I live on a mountain. It may be a bit difficult to get to the top, but if that's the case, I'm sure we can just stay around the bottom until we can both make it up," she said with another little smile. She turned around, scanning the landscape until she found the mountain that she called, at-least, her temporary home. After all, Sunstone hadn't exactly said yet that she could stay premenantly and furthermore, how would he react to the new horse. She shrugged and looked back at Latte. 'Surely he can't turn her away,' she thought. "And what's your name?" she asked once she remembered that she hadn't asked for it yet.

She watched as the mare suddenly turned around again. Go with you, yes, maybe... Oh and I am Latte, Quality Latte is my real name but you can call me Latte The filly rolled over once then stood up, and shook the dust from her beautiful golden coat. But what happens if mom does find the bridge? She asked the mare Do you think she would find me? Then the little body turned once more towards the path she had followed here...Would mom ever find the bridge? Or does she even know I'm not coming back? Suddenly she remembered her manners, What is your name? I don't think I ever did ask...Sorry, I just totally lost my manners, my mother would be so ashamed... she lowered her head with mock shame. Suddenly she remembered a question she had pondered while alone for those couple moments, Are there any other horses here? or am I, I mean, We the only ones? She could only hope she would get the answer she wanted...

"Well, I suppose the most we can do is ask other horses to see if she finds her way over," Crimson said and looked back at the filly. "It's good to meet you, Latte. I'm Crimson Flower, or Crimson for short," she said, dipping her head slightly in greeting. "And don't worry about it," she said with a little nicker of laughter. "I'm not particularly used to hanging around with horses that use manners on a daily basis," she said with a slight fondness in her voice.
She laughed again and shook her head. "No, there are plenty of other horses here," she explained, bobbing her head to indicate the land around her. "There are a few stallions and their little bands in the lands around here," she said. "Any lone horses normally wind up around here and are taken into a herd," she explained. "So if you chose any place to linger around the island, here would be the best place."

I wonder who Crimson is so fond of... Latte wondered silently. it's not like she is trying to keep it a secret... maybe if I just kind of slip it into conversation. I would really like it if we could go and talk to the other horses... So are you part of any one herd? Latte asked nonchalantly Smooth girl, very smooth, doesn't soun like your asking about any one Stallion in particular, but it can't really be skirted around either, I am wayyyyy to good at this!

"I'm currently staying in a herd, though I'm not sure how long that will last...for a while I hope," Crimson said and took a few steps towards the peak in the distance. She looked back to see if Latte was going to follow her.

The foal nodded her head at the herd comment. Then she realized that Crimson wanted her to follow her. Are you sure it would be alright with your, uhhh.. Stallion-friend-guy-leader-whatever... If I came and joined you, and with the other mares? Latte asked, she didn't feel right without know that she would be accepted into the unkown herd.

Crimson thought for a moment and answered without looking back at the filly. "To be perfectly honest, no. I'm not sure what he'll say. "And I'm the only mare there now," she stated to correct the last part of Latte's statement. "But I suppose that's a chance we'll need to take, if you still want to come with me, that is." Her head turned to watch for Latte's reaction just in case she made a face instead of a verbal answer.

Latte knew that Crimson really wanted her to come, who would risk being thrown out of a herd just to bring some stupid, unwanted filly home with her? Latte asked herself. She realized Crimson was watching her intently for her answer. Latte bobbed her head once to say that yes she would come, but just incase the ever so small reaction was missed she decided to, in her best, most well-mannered voice reply with, If you would accept me into your home Crimson Flower, I, Quality Latte, would love to be a part of it.

Crimson smiled slightly and turned to look ahead of her again. "Let's go then," she said before setting off at a trot to begin with. Her ears were turned back towards Latte to listen for her hoofbeats. She would pick up the pace once she knew the filly was following her.

Latte watched as Crimson started to trot off, and with one final look behind her to be sure that she couldn't find the bridge she had come across only a little over an hour ago, Latte loped up ahead until she was beside the mare then slowed to the trot the red roan had set out. OOC::The end? or do you still have more to say? PM or post in chat if its over just so I know! Thankies
