Drums seemed to pulse in every step of the mare, her keen violet eyes that could pierce through anything were glaring, glaring at anything that dared come her way. Many said that she could move mountains with her eyes, or more precisely, her glare. Her eyes were like violet seas in a storm, frothing over the edges yet still giving a glassy, shining appearence.
The black mare was a free mare, and she intended to be a free mare forever. She intended to live out her days as the master of her own life, with no one and nothing holding her back. She wanted to race the wind, to jump to the sky, to challenge all living things for speed and flight.
Some say that she had been meant to be a stallion in her way of thinking, for she thought of a power that no mares had. She thought of being the leader, the head, the one in charge. But this was unheard of in wild horse society, and that was why she chose to be a loner, where she could make her own decisions.
Yes, Black Jewel was an interesting mare, and not one to be fought with. For another thing she was famous for was her temper, which was as unpredictable as the future.

In the dead of night, a stallion came. He was an Arabian stallion to be precise, rising at the withers to 14.3 hands and having a blood bay coat which was unstained from the marks of other stallion's teeth, however, it was mared by the cruel enslavement by the humans. His long black mane had long ago grown from its first short state, but it was still severed roughly along the bottom, apparently the mark of shears weilded by human hooves.
His gait was fast and outgoing, a steady long-strided walk. This horse was on a mission. He had scented a mare from some away and he was determined to claim her for his currently non-existant herd. He had no idea of her wild, independant nature. He just though she was like any other mare he hadn't come across. This island was large, but it had few inhabitants, equine inhabitants anyway...
He broke into a trot as he traveled a little farther other the ground. He was eager to get to the mare and charm her, or so he thought, with his good looks and witty remarks. How wrong he was, he was one stallion in for a shock. Finally, he came upon the mare, who was there, looking fierce, but still beautiful. Shiek slowed to barely a walk before he spoke, emerging from the shadows as he did so.
"Hello mare, what may you be doing on this fine night?" He said smoothly, coming into full view.

Black Jewel tilted her head in a puzzled confusion, the motion rippling down her black hide. Was that a voice she heard? Amusement crackled through her as her eyes spotted the stallion that owned the voice. Experience told her not to break them too quickly, but she would have her fun. Her amusement showed in the way she held her tail high and flicked it occasionally.
"Why exactly do you care?" she asked in a harsh tone, raising her muzzle in a digusted fashion.

Sheik laughed softely as the mare asked him why he would care about what she was doing.
"I'm a stallion, you're a mare. Do the math." He said.
((sorrry its short))

Black Jewel smiled her fake smile at this stallion, who obviously thought he was hot stuff.
"One plus one equals two, two take away one equals one, and one means I'd be alone, which is how I want to be," she said, raising her muzzle in her slightly stuck-up way, and turning away from this stallion and flicking her tail.

So, she wants to play a game. Sheik thought, Very well then.
"Come now." He said, "You can't want to be alone, we're herd animals by nature, and even if we weren't do you want to die and early death as dinner for some predator. I sure don't. Besides, how can you say no to a lead stallion of a beautiful land?" He questioned, coming up behind her. "And another thingg, I'm not leaing this place without you or at least another mare." He said in a loud dramtic whisper.

Black Jewel turned her head to glare at this stallion.
"Then I guess you're out of luck, because I can defend for myself," she said, bucking hard and harshly, hoping to dim this stallion's wanting of her.
(Bleck, it's short)

((Its ok))
But Sheik was not swayed.
"You're certainly a fiesty mare, aren't you." He teased. "You are talking to Sheik of the Sultan, a stallion straight from Arabia. We fight there too, you know." He assured her. Then as she bucked he reared up onto his hind legs and faked struck at her with his rock-hard front hoof, but he didn't let his hoof touch her.

"And I fight here right now," Black Jewel hissed, preparing herself for another buck, making sure she was going to use all of her power. No way was she going to let this stallion have her. She flicked her tail irritatedly, and turned her head to catch anything the stallion tried.

"Well fine." Sheik said, grinning mockingly. "Let's see what you can do, little mare. I'm waiting. Or would you rather run?"

If there was one thing Black Jewel didn't tolerate, it was being taunted. She was so filled with anger that she immediately wheeled around on her hind legs and lurched forward to bite the stallion on the neck, hoping to draw out blood and pain. Her hooves also shot forward, aiming for his barrel.

At that moment, Sheik reared up on his hind legs so that both her attempts to mascre his neck and nail him with her hooves, would be wasted effort on her part. Instead he felt her slam into him.
Holy crud, He though as the fiery mare pushed him over, She is strong! With a strong shake, he managed to squirm away from her, so that he was out of harm's way. He stood there, several feet away from her, what he deemed a safe distance, and looked over at her, breatheing hard.

"What's the matter stallion?" Jewel taunted, "Scared? Tired?" She raised one jagged hoof from the ground, just in case he delivered a surprise attack. She did not want to be surprised. Unlike many, Black Jewel fought with her head instead of her heart, at least most of the times.

Sheik said nothing. He just stood there and looked at her. Then his breathing quickened as the mare asked him if he was scared.
"Are you suggesting I'm a coward?" He spat angrilly, his voice suddenly developing an edge in anger. He began to walk towards her again, an angry, dangerous look upon his face.

"I could be," Black Jewel hissed, smoke seeming to blow out her nose, violet eyes dangerously flashing red. Wind blew into her face, blowing her mane back, but the cool breeze didn't chill her temper. In her mind the wind became a tornado and tore away the stallion, but she did not dwell on dreams.
"Try anything and you'll only feel more pain."
