The land was covered in a dark, blue-ish shadow. It was the first phase before the darkness of the night had fully set in, as it would soon, dominating the land like some unstoppable tyrant. Everywhere there were signs of the earth becoming domant for the duration of the night. The birds had flown away to reside on their perches in the trees, the small woodland mammals had already scrurried into hidding places under the brush. And a cluster of morning glory flowers were hidding their faces from the world, drawing their beauty into themselves, seemingly rooting themselves more firmly to the rotten log on which they resided.
And as the rest of the world was starting in on their long winter's nap, a horse ventured out into the darkening woods. A mare to be precise. A mare of blue roan coat color, of startling beauty. And she was alone, very alone...

I krept slowly in weaving between the trees. It was very erie, but I didnt mind. I heard small woodland creatures shifting in their sleep, the owls still awake in search for prey. The moon was out but the blue-ish clouds made it disappear every once in a while. I saw ahead a mare, alone. I breathed out softly. The air was cold but not cold enough for me, I could with stand alot colder than this. " Hello mare", I whispered I knew she couldn't see me because I blended in with the darkened forest. But she could hear me. " Alone are we," I cackled. I walked out. Beauty caught my eyes as she was a blue roan. I looked around the forest but I couldn't help myself she was beautiful. Snap out of it, my brain told me. I walked even closer towards her. " Now what is a little mare like you doing in such a night like this", I questioned.

She heard a noise behind her and instinctively whirled around to face a great black stallion and instantly she pinned her dark ears flat to her skull.
"Greetings, stallion." The sensible mare offered in greeting. "My business is my own, and I daresay your business is your own just as mine for myself." She finished, she was a witty mare and skilled with using words, the longer, the better. She thought of herself as clever, intellectual, and sensible. She wasn't a fighter, but she wasn't stupid either. She would do all she could to resist being taken against her will, but in the end, she knew she would fail, knowing that she would do her best to stay alive and wait for a hero to rescue her if she was ever kidnapped.

" Oh ok", I said. " Just thought why such a pretty mare like yourself would have a mate already", I said mockingly. I walked towards her ignoring her when she put her ears down. I looked around the forest. I smelled her scent a mile away. I looked at her. " If you think I am going to take you away by force your wrong, the only way I would take you away is by my dark charm", I hissed. The wind blew hard now making hard to hear things around me. " Would you at least join me for a walk in the dark"? I asked. knowing she would probably say no, and tell me to leave, but that just wouldn't happen that quick.

Glory gave a snort, lady-like and, but none-the-less a snort.
“I am more intelligent then that, stallion.” She said, a little contemptuously. “I am not stranger to the ways of your type. True, I have never experienced them, but I have heard tell of your tales from the tongues of other mares, who have befallen your villainy. Pray, do not mistake me for some innocent petunia or some shrinking violet; for I say to you, I am neither, for I am not creature of timidity or helplessness. But neither am I a ruthless blood-lusting Amazon; I am kind. I have been educated, yet I am not proud and vain, I have been humiliated, yet I do not kneel before my foes.” Her voice raised passionately, this feminist mare who had a gift with words and wit in her tongue continued her verbal crusade. “You stallions may say more, swear more, and you may think that you have all the power and guts provided by plentiful muscles and you conditioned sinews, but do not underestimate the power of a mare. Has it not been said, ‘hell hath no fury like a mare scorned?’ Hear me now, we not simply the toys or processions of stallions, the so-called ‘superior gender’, our only purpose in life in not just conceiving and giving birth to pass on a stallion’s traits. We are not tools for the likes of you to use, haltered livestock for stallions to push to one place or another. We are strong, perhaps not physically as you are, but we are strong in spirit.” She said, finishing her speech.
“So, if your swiftly-calculating brain, well-lubricated in its factory prongs, greased axles, and lithe bands, has yet summed up my enlightening monologue,” She added, introducing a touch of sarcasm, “The answer is no.” She finished, descending her language so that he could understand.

" I didn't say that you were stupid mare, but that was a stupid thing to say", I retorted. " Since you will not come with you I will stay here with you", I he smirked. I walked closer to her. " You use wise words mare, but that doesnt prove anything", I said. I reared up in annoyance. " I am not stupid, mare. I have been taught well", I said. "All mares are the exact same..... they all want pity and a stallion to sympathsize for them", He finished. I snorted to get the annoyance out of him. " Now ", I hissed

((You need to write in either 1st or 2nd person, not both))
Morning Glory just looked at him, disdain in her dark brown eyes.
"Oh, prey tell, oh arrogant stallion, who did teach you to rear up in such a ridiculous fashion? Who schooled you to tell a mare what she is? Who Friesian? Was it the proud Shetland or perhaps the sterile mule? Who was your mentor? I ask you now." She glared up at him, a fierce fire smoldering in her eyes.
You say that you are not stupid, but when I look at you I cannot help but think that you are the most naive and unintelligent creatures I have ever met. You think than everything is just going to go your way, without argument from a second party, don't you? You're despicable, you know that don't you? Like a worm wriggling in the cold slime of yestermorning. Like a pig wallowing in filth. You are like a foal, spoiled like a rotting fish by the mare he calls his mother. You are a cad, a knave, you are juvenile!" She finished, her voice raising to a passionate shriek. She stood there for a moment, just looking up at him in fury. Then she turned, wheeling around, her longish mane following her quick movement, as a moment later, she was speeding away from him, that poor excuse for a stallion, and into the dark night.
