Here came the king, walking into his newly-found domain in the most proud but chivalrous manner. He had once been a proud fool, yet now he was a humbled king, no longer a goofy colt but a wiser stallion for he had been shot through the heart with Cupid's arrow. Yes, love had found the King and it had pierced him through like a deadly missile and it gave him joy and a terrible, aching pain in his heart.
As he entered his kingdom at a jaunty trot, he slowed to a jog and allowed the equine behind him to take a glimpse of his home. His enchanted forest, of sorts.
"Now, M'lady." He said quietly, gently as he made room for her to view the stunning sight of the leaves drifting down to the already-crimson earth. "Behold Autumn Forest."
((Ack, muse is gone somewhat.))

**[ooc; tis fine. mine not its greatest either :/]**
Encore followed easily and relatively quiet. her cranium was held low at first; the scenary was all just blending together. but eyes opened for some unknown reason, and remained that way. the surroundings were changing; things were getting... well, downright handsome. the forest was simply breathtaking, and it came as no surprise when King Charlemagne announced that it was his own. she stood gazing at the sight for a while, before looking to him
I am at a lost for words my lord... can only say that it takes one's breath away

"I am glad to hear that." Charlemange responded. He looked around at his golden forest with a smile on his muzzle, before turning to her,
"Will you..." But his voiced trailed off as he realized he couldn't finish his sentence. He stood there for a moment, his mouth moving soundlessly as he became embarassed. Finally he said,
"I'm sorry, but I don't even know your name." He finally admitted.

After his first section of speech, the overo only nodded slowly. bright eyes searched her surroundings, even turning her neck to get a better view of things. she had been caught about half off-guard, and returned to gaze at him when he trailed off. to be honest, she was a bit puzzled yet curious about this. what had he been going to say? had he lost his train of thought, or was something afoot? vocals were silenced in throat though, as his inquiry came. a smile spread across her muzzle, though it disappeared rather quickly. long tail flicked nonchalant yet diligently at her sorrel hide. this thought had echoed within her mind for a while now. in the beginning she had wondered how long it would take for him to ask it, or at least realize he never learned it.
she left him hanging for a few moments; in this she had a special power over him. but, being as deep down there really was something that cared, she unloosed her tongue and speech came
I was wondering how long it would take you to realize it.... my calling be that of Encore[/sup]

A fitting name for you." Charlemagne assured her, even though he had no idea as to what her name was supposed to mean, but what did it matter anyway? He had said in like he knew what it meant, hadn't he? He was skilled at listening to the tone of his voice from his practicing sweet-talking on the little naive fillies. Though he had been made to become more humble by the beautiful Encore, he had lost none of his confidence and ability to sweet-talk and flatter mares. However, his falling for Encore had humbled him greatly; it had forced him to lose that I'm-so-hot attitude which he often carried with him. He was now a more considerate and polite stallion. Turning back to his newly-claimed mare, he became serious once more as he continued what he had started before.
"Will you, Encore, become lead mare of, if you accept it, our land?" He asked her, "I would be honored if you would choose to do so." He added. He didn't know why he was suddenly so invested, why he was suddenly hoping so much that she would say yes. He was praying that she would one day fall for him. He was certain that if she were to ever leave he would crawl into a dark place and never come out, but why this strong feeling of a sudden? He couldn't explain it....

**[ooc; nice post. sorry I won't be able to match it]**
The overo wasn't sure of what to make of his first statement. hopefully it was a compliment; he didn't seem the type to hand out insults. but she didn't have long to ponder his words; what he said next caught her off guard. a bit honored, a bit pleased, yet still wrapped in surprise. really, any female would feel mighty special when asked to become lead mare. but Encore only smiled a very small smile, and flicked her crimson cascade of a tail.
Charlemagne, I don't know if I'm losing myself or if your charm is finally making an impact... but not only will I graciously accept your offer of lead, I shall also call this place my home.

((Thanks, it's alright))
Charlemagne just grinned done at her, his goal might be at the point of achievement--maybe.
"An honor, my lady Encore."{/b] He said, bending his long neck to the ground in what was apparently an imitation of a bow. As he pulled his head up her shook the white forelock out of his brown eyes.
"So, what past time would your heart please you to pursue?" The palomino stallion asked his newly instated lead mare.

While her sun kissed lord chatted on, Encore had a look around. hooves remained in place, and neck hardly moved, but hazel wondered. she wanted to get a feel for the place, but wouldn't just couldn't walk off since she had some manners. ears picked up some birds twittering overhead, some distance fauna browsing the foilage. she didn't exactly want a tour; discovering for oneself remained in the mind longer than if someone lectured. still, she couldn't help but to be curious. when the golden brute seemed to bow to her, she nodded a respectable nod, but nothing more. she was somewhat fond of him, but not affectionate. and after he had spoken, she wasn't quite sure. explore? have a chat? for once, she was unsure. this was new terms for her, really this entire 'claiming' process was foreign, but she'd cope. for now, dark chocolate eyes looked to him, tail flicking idly
Nothing calls to me in particular, my lord. I am up for any suggestions you may have though

Charlemange grinned, a wild look taking over his eyes.
"Then, Encore, if you do not have any preferances, let us run and race the wind. Let us thunder down the center of this golden forest, let us delight in the speed of our legs. Let us be swifter then the bird ahead, for we are the beings with wings; we are the ones who pocess the gift of flight in our hooves, we are rulers of this domain." He stopped and swung his head in joy, letting out a short, high-pitched squeal as he did so, but then he froze, just as he had raised his right front leg.
"Am I using too many words to describe the same thing?" He asked her, looking a little foolish, but not stupidly so. He smirked widely at his error, enjoying the light-heartedness of the situation. It was good to have someone here with him, and wonderful for that horse to be a mare. Because for all the wood's glory, it had been a lonesome place, but now it seemed lively as busy, even though it was only the two of them.

A gentle smile took over the form of her lips. and her cascade of a mane twirled in the gentle breeze as she tossed her head. the flies were not so irksome here, and the shade from the overhanging branches was quite a luxury. she could look forward to coming home to here, that was for sure. calm eyes looked to the caramel colt -though he had aged a lot recently- , and a laugh almost made its escape as she said
Actually, I'm not in the mood to go running. Feel free to do it yourself; don't let me hold you back. I might come along though, but at a much more reasonable gait. And no, however poetic your speech tends to be I find it tolerable and even slightly charming.
She spoke the truth, though hoped her compliment wouldn't go to his head

The conceited stallion tilted his head to one side, and then the other as if thinking the matter over.
"Very well then." He said eventually. "Would you care to walk with me then, enjoy the beauty of the wood around us?" He was not at all displeased, although he preferred galloping recklessly through the trees to walking in a civil manner beneath them, but this was his mare's choice and he would be more then happy to spend time with her.
The little complement about his 'poetic speech' being charming gave him some of his old stagger back and he performed a half pass with something of a smirk and extra animation in his golden legs.

**[ooc; that pic up there ^^ isn't showing up... in case you didn't know ^.^]**
Dark eyes watched him intently, and she blinked and nodded ever so slowly after he had spoken. his little prance didn't go unnoticed but she paid it little mind. already she was growing used to his cheerful, if often immature, antics. heck, she tried to see it has a mission, or in the very least something to keep her alert and on the edge of her hooves.
The overo chose not to speak her reply, but rather started up a jaunty trot in her limbs that carried her over the earth quickly. but after only a few strides, composure was in check and she settled into a walk beside the sun kissed stallion

Charlemagne, being the bigger horse next to her, had to shorten his usually long strides, tossing his head a bit before he settled down to a normal walk. He was about to open his mouth to say something to her, when he realized he didn't know all that much about her.
Wow, this is awkward. He thought, as he walked along side of her, speechless and muse-less on what to say next.
"So, uh, do you have any brothers or sisters?" He finally managed to ask her, for want of a better question. For a moment he thought it might have sounded halfway intelligent, but then, two minutes later, it sounded incredible stupid to him and he felt ready to kick himself for his stupidity.

The paint near found it amusing how clumsy this one could be. it was an unintentional awkardness that he probably didn't notice. nevertheless, it was somewhat adorable. silence was sometimes pleasant, he must realize. to walk in silence takes more guts than it does to walk in chatter. a smile played with her lips, though any an amused mask appeared. the way he had asked his inquire... it seemed he was tripping over his own tongue. it was cute, in a way. funny even, seeing as it wasn't long ago he said every word as if off a script. what was he, out of his zone? Encore found it hard to believe such a charismatic stallion had never done this before. still, she would not be rude intentionally, so muzzle parted and she replied
None that I know of. Do you? [/sup]

"Three." The palomino replied with some distaste. I met one, my younger sister once when I was a two-year-old. Of my two half brothers I only heard tell of from my mother. I believe I have another half sister as well, but I've never heard much about her."
He finished. Welcome to being the son of a lead stallion, half brothers and sisters galore. There was silence again as he walked through the surrounding trees. Wow, this conversation was really flowing. And she's really being a great help. Charlemagne thought with some annoyance at his new mare, but he was not too irritated after all, he was supposed to be the one who had wanted to claim her. She had not been too enthusiastic about claiming. "So, er, what do you like to do?" He asked her after a moment, having mercifully come up wit a suitable question.
